The Cannes Film Festival is now in full swing. Two films which are representing British Independent film at the festival are Schrödinger’s Girl and The Butterfly Tattoo. Schrodinger’s Girl is a low budget Sci-Fi film starring Abigail Tarttelin and directed by Huw Bowen whilst The Butterfly Tattoo is an adaptation from Phillip Pullman’s novel of the same name and starring Duncan Stuart and Jessica Blake. The film was directed by Phil Hawkins, who was personally picked by Steven Spielberg to compete on the Fox TV show ‘On the Lot‘ and has already been given a cinema release in the US. The film was screened on the opening night of Cannes and gained a lot of good reviews.
