Moon, the debut feature from Duncan Jones, has been named the best British indie film at this years British Independent Film Awards in London, with Duncan Jones also taking home the best debut director award. Other winners included Carey Mulligan (Best Actress) in An Education, Tom Hary (Best Actor) in Bronson and Best Director for Andrea Arnold for her film Fish Tank.

The nominations for the 11th British Independent Film Awards were announced in London today with In Bruges and Hunger leading the way with seven nominations each. Held annually, the BIFAs pay tribute to and award the best independent films made in the last year with previous winners including Anton Corbijn’s Control and Paul Andrew Williams’ London to Brighton. There are some cracking films up for awards this year and we here at IndieFlicks wish every single one the best of luck.
